I've got the Corbin Hollywood Solo. I wanted Low and Back, I had the gunfighter on my last bike and loved it. I can ride 10-12 hours on the seat, stopping for gas and food with out discomfort. The Corbins are FIRM and supportive. They pretty much feel the same thru the entire ride. I like my mattresses firm too.

My wife has the Mustang Vintage Solo. I like hers for comfort too but would kill the look of my bike IMO. She rides with me and never complains about her *** being too sore.

I would recommend both seats. From the reviews I have seen on the corbin they aren't for every one so if your hesitant go with the Mustang, but if your diggin the Corbin, I have no complaints on comfort!

You're F*k*ng HILARIOUS!!!

I'm asking for help here, but you have to make F*k*ng HILARIOUS comments about my serious inquiries. I'm not an expert on motorcycle seats, that's why I'm asking, instead of just buying what I thought looked nice. So the barebones is uncomfortable...how would I know without peoples input. That is why I asked!! YOU, however, have to put me down like I'm the idiot for asking. So your stock seat works for you? Great! I'm above calling people like you morons, so I will keep my comment to myself.

Back on topic.

Listen man nobody was putting you down. So man up - wipe the tears away, and go buy a barebones. The barebones doesn't even look comfy. I thought it was a funny question thats all. By the way you have been a member here since 07' im sure you know how to search for topics. There has been around a thousand different post here telling everybody how uncomfortable barebones are.

Cool

Three seats on the Deuce before the LePera Sorrento and it is staying after 9K miles even if it does look like a black Pillsbury Doughboy.. Corbin makes a great seat and at first glance they do not appear to be made of oak.

One thing seems for sure.. if it looks great in profile then it probably won't be a "comfy" seat.

I have noticed that I really don't "see" my seat's appearance while riding...more like "feel" it. I get a lot more "nice seat" comments when out riding then I ever did with the jockstraps some call seats. Significants seem particularly interested. John

I have run nearly all of the seats out there at one time or another on some form of bike or another.

The ones that look cool are usually not that comfortable, the ones that look comfortable are not that cool. The trick is to find something in the middle that is still decent looking but won't kill your butt.

I had a Bare Bones Solo on my 2007 Train and it's not a comfortable seat for long hauls. Around town it's great but more than an hour and it's worse than the stock seat.

I changed to a Mustang Tripper Solo and pillion setup this year at Myrtle Beach Bike week and it's a great compromise. It's firm and supportive but spreads the load so you don't develop hot spots and it looks great too. My luck, I ended up buying a Street Glide a week after I upgraded my seat.

I will sell the Tripper Solo/Pillion combination for 250 bucks if anyone is interested. It's a decent looking seat that is pretty comfortable too.

PM me if you're interested....not a thread hijack as it's relevant to the topic.

I went through the whole seat thing as well. I have the stock FXSTS Springer seat (ugly but very comfortable), a Corbin Hollywood Solo (STO-H) seat, Corbin Forward Gunfighter (STO-CG) seat with memory foam, the HD Badlander seat, and now am sticking with the Mustang Vintage Solo and Pillon.

Both Corbins are very firm and after a long ride my butt gets quite sore. The Badlander is softer yet has much less support for the back then the Corbins. And for long ride comfort, the Mustang can't be beat.

I live in Canada too (Montreal). If you have your heart set on the Hollywood Corbin Solo seat, let me know: I'll sell you mine for a fair price. It's in great shape.

Thanks, very helpful post. I am pretty well convinced of the Mustangs comfort. The 14" Vintage Solo looks about right. There not nearly as nice looking as the Corbin's and LePera's, but at my age I have to think about comfort on the long hauls.

My input may be biased but I had my stock Deluxe seat modified by shaving it down and moving me back and I find it very comfortable. I also have a Bare Bones and I find it comfortable. Before my Deluxe, I ran a Bare Bones on my Night Train and loved it so I bought one for my Deluxe. When riding I stop every hour or so anyway.
