Is it a money issue that you can't keep the custom set? I think the stock set looks bad a$$ on that bike but custom is custom and separates you from the rest. I would keep both and switch up from time to time... I do... I run my stock tins when the mood strikes and yes, people think I have 2 bikes. I also have 3 different rear fenders. Change my bike's look all the time... It's a trip.
I like the custom set, I see the blue and white paint all the time, the custom paint you have is something different and will make the bike stand out and be different.
The Blue and white Look great.
the flames are cool too.
I guess the real question is,... What direction are you going for with your bike ? if retro: then another set of custom tins, or factory... If cool is your goal: then the flames.
Strat I love the bike as it sits but those new tins look great. I don't think the pictures do that paint justice..I bet that metallic pops in the light!!
Swapping tins every year has got to suck....pick the one that you like! I think they both look good, but I'm partial to the custom one off stuff, its nice to be different.
You asked, so IMO.
Usually I don't like WW tires, just me, But on your white over blue with WW's to me looks pretty good.
The tins have a great paint job, also but if U put them on I wouldn't like them with the WW's.
Two totally diff looks, to me for old school look, leave it as is, its really nice now....
My vote goes for leaving the stock tins on the bike. I just think that with the way you have your bike set up, the stock paint fits the style...it's a really clean, chromed, OG look you have.
Don't get me wrong, your custom tins are awesome, and would look sick on a bike with more of a custom/hot rod look...but your bike, at least IMHO, has that OG nostalgic feel...and the two tone fits.
If you ever decide to go with a hot rod style to your bike, then I think the tins would be perfect.
Keep in mind, this is comming from a guy who likes everything as original as possible...old cars, I can't stand custom paint and interior with all the flashy consoles and shaved metal, I like them as OG as possible, chromed, moldings in place, originally equiped, original paint, just bagged and slammed...same thing with bikes.
