Default Comp ratio on 95" kit

Just curious if a 9.5 or 10.5 is better on a 95" kit. Planning on jugs and carb this summer and cams, heads this winter. Thanks

You need to look at what you want for end Hp/Tq, top end rpm s or more low mid range power and then make a decision on a cam choice. Cams are greatly effected by compression ratio. In general a low to mid range rpm cam will work well with the lower compression and a mid to top end range cam needs more compression.

More reliability, mid range power. I do alot of road trips. Plus a jockey shift probabley gets a little scary w/ to much bottom end.

I'd try to set it around 10:1. Fuel quality isn't getting any better, and you don't want to run into a pinging problem.

For reliability I would stay around 9.5.1 and do a bolt in cam. You can go a little more agressive with both and be reliable. A good set of heads will make a good bit of difference.
