And then there are those that claim they almost got killed because their pantleg got caught on it.
If you don't like it no problem taking it off. I like mine, wife didn't like hers. Chrome spline cover if you leave the front shifter where it's at or a chrome spacer if you move it to the outboard spline.
Never used my heel shifter. Then after one time of getting a size 13 stuck between the two and almost dropping the bike with wife aboard, it had to go! I got a little chrome cover at the dealership to cover the splines.
I lowered mine closer to the floorboard and also added the new swing back lever that kicks it back at about 45 degrees when in cruise or pivit closed around town great shifting if in the highway pegs as well. When I ride my dyna I have to remember the toe lol
when I had the road king with pegs on the highway bar, I almost never used the floor boards,my feet went from the ground to the highway bar I would hit the heel shift then go right back to the highway bar.
now with the cross bone (without a highway bar) I never use the heel shifter.
Anyone using extended lever....is it extended back behind floorboard. Feel like if it were at, or just barely above, the level of the floorboard and could pivot down behind the floorboard, I'd have the best of both worlds...more mobility on the board for my feet and ability to upshift without doing leglifts!
I thought it was the cats *** until I got my pant leg tangled in it and almost dropped the bike at a stop sign... Never wore those pants on the bike again, and went with forward controls soon after.
