I dunno how you get away with it in that Hood' of yours Sasha!! In my hood' open non-baffled pipes are taboo and cause for Law enforcement to come check you out!!
I ran open shortstops and prior to swapping them out was gonna try the same washer tricks.....
It would be cool if you could get a half hour of Dyno time to try some different sizes and see if you can move the TQ line of yours over to the left a smidgen if not even gain pound or three!
I dunno dude my neighbors love me!or thy are just scared to say something,LOL
I do have a dyno run with BCT baffles this is the same think....
We used to put the flippers in our Honda Scrambler pipes back in the 60's.. they had a **** out side the pipe so we could flip them shut in town and flip open out in the open or when needed to...
The VH quiet baffles are similar to lollipops in that they are very restrictive as compared to the stock baffles. Had a set and it did feel like a little low end tq was added BUT at the expensive of loosing power above 3,500~4 rpm's... not a good trade off since the bike has a low to mid cam installed. YMMV

How would using a washer with a larger outside diameter, say 1 1/2" or a smaller diameter say 3/4" effect things. Obviously smaller would equal less back pressure and larger would equal more back pressure. But at what point are you being to restrictive? Also, does increased backpressure help quell decel pop at all? My bike sound 10x better with no baffles and I dont notice much of a torque loss, maybe a tiny bit. But I do get way more decel pop without the baffles and Id like to quiet that down.

I have Hooker pipes on my 05 Fatboy, and they are way too loud. I have to be careful in town, because CSPD has no problem issuing tickets for exhaust mods. My pipes are straight and long. I am not sure how to quiet them down, short of swapping them out. Any suggestions? Will this mod work for me? Thanks!
sullyboy you can bet quiet baffles from various companies. do you have any baffles at all in there now? Ive got hookers too, but mine are the curved ones, the troublemakers. Mine are loud as hell too when they are run without baffles but i like it, id like it to be even louder. They tend to have a nasty decel pop without baffles though, id like to get rid of that.
