Does anyone know if I can put a 2005 Heritage Softail gas tank on a 2002 Heritage softail??
The 2005 tank is not fuel injected but the 2002 is fuel injected.
Does this make a difference??
Need to know before auction ends on E-bay.
Thanks Guys.
Eric
thanks for checking. I am going crazy with this. Saw tank & fender set on e-bay in pearl white for an 05 and I want it so bad. Don't like the '02 Jade Sunglo color bike that I just picked up, but it was a good price.
I might be ok with this. I attached an OEM diagram for my 2002 FLSTCi and also attached the photo from E-bay on the tank I want to buy. It looks good to go. Let me know.
Like I said the differences arent gonna be top of tank naked eye one glance stuff.
The Carbed bike..Your bike has a fuel petcock where the EFI bike has a fuel line that on a quick disconnect.
If your petcock and that quick disconnect port/nipple whatever are the same? Then you are golden. If the EFI bike has a completely different nipple or outlet dealie? You are not so golden and will have to fab something ghetto up.
Now its my thought that they will work as I cant imagine Moco spending any extra money to make the EFI tanks differently.
Then again I do not wanna be the guy that tells you it will fit for sure because honestly I havent ever tryed to swap and my bike is EFI.
I checked the service manual and there are obviously completly different assemblys that attach to the tank. The hope is that the nipple or outlet portion of the tank is either threaded or flanged the same on both bikes.
I would think it would be...Then again? I dont know for sure.
