Checking oil 06 NT

I'm sure its around here somewhere so sorry for the question. Just picked up an 06 Night Train for wifey (sold her 98 Heritage). Got no owners manual. I remember my 05 Softail I believe I stood it up to check engine oil. My 08 I had to leave on stand. What is the deal with an 06. I have an 08 dipstick looks the same length I assume on kickstand but Hey we all know *** u me.....

check it on the stand. this way you get more oil in the tank without overfilling.
