Hi, can anyone advise me on would or should be the price to do a proper 103 upgrade on 09 96" having the work donr at a H.D. dealer.
Second question as any used or have any knowlege of about the bolt on rake, I seen a company advertise's a 9degree bolt on rake. Any advise on both items would depply appreciated.
I have an 09 Rocker C that had an oil leak. The dealer had to split the case and reseal it so I decided to go with the 103 upgrade with 204 cams. I already had a heavy breather, race tuner and V&H pipes. The warranty covered the labor. So I only had to pay for parts which cost me $830.
I had Dave Arnold here in the springs do a slew of head work, honing and doing hand matched rings, valve seat grinding etc..etc... for half price when it was cold and nobody was doing sheet.
I even somehow had Frank down at SR tuning doing all kinds of dyno time and free tunes after pipes swaps....Then it got warm.
Our streets were once again flooded with Harley guys. I live off powers. I cant make it 100 yards on powers without dropping a two finger bike guy wave.
Now its like..."Chaz Who"? You wanna tweak what? Tune...Again? why? Call me next week.
I had heard that the original oil reserve on 96 is not enough for the 103 upgrade. Not sure if this could be addressed in upgrade or not. Why upgrade '09 96 ? Wouldn't it affect your 2yr warranty?
Kokomo harley just had a 103/255SE cams, flat tops, labor and dyno for $1700 this past winter, averaged 103tq and 85hp, the 255's are for the bottom half power and works for the 07 up gearing better than the pre 07's. as they tend to fall off faster after 4k.. good for heavy bikes

That's right in line with what my FXST made with the 255s and no headwork....82hp/102tq, and DEAD at 4k rpms.
