I'm with nvsteve. I ordered my PCV from fuelmoto (a site sponsor here in case you didn't know), and he pre-programmed it for my specific set-up. He asked what kind of pipes I was using and what kind of air cleaner. I told him, he programmed it before he shipped it to me, and it runs beautifully. His customer service is exceptional as well.

Well let's see:

How serious are you about tuning?

If you just want to add pipes and a/c and make the bike run right Fuelpak will be just fine. Easy to change maps my friend has one on his sporty.

If you are looking at doing future mods ie cams, headwork, etc... the PC has much more ability to tune. I have a PC-V on my fatboy I ordered it from fuelmoto.com great service. If you do mods he can email you a map and just plug your laptop to update map. Or if you want to get serous about getting every last hp out of your motor you can take to a dyno and fine tune. You can not do this with the fuelpak. Hope this helps.

I would go with the PC for the versatility, I know the FuelPack is decent but in my opinion it is entry level fuel management, go with the PC if those are your only two options. Otherwise I would say Thundermax with Autotune or the TTS!

Thanks for all the tips. It looks like I'll probably be going with the PC. Prices I saw in J&P had the FuelPak a little cheaper than the PC, but I didn't realize it was as limited in it's usefulness. With the prices from FuelMoto and the ability to adjust in the future, looks like PC is the definite winner.

I have a FuelPak on my Rocker with BR's and V&H Vo2 and it sucks....I will be going with something different. FuelPak runs to lean and cannot be used to make any fuel/air adjustments during the dyno tuning at each RPM range. If you do get the thing you will experience backfiring as mentioned before and I would call them to get all of codes to punch in...do not trust the website or the photocopied pages that come with it (they both give different codes). Good Luck.

Go with the PC-V,if you have extra coins that you want to spend then go with the Thundermax...IMHO

i had the pciii and a dyno tune because my bike would not work with canned map. it worked great but then i changed pipes and did not want to pay for a dyno tune again so i found a used thundermax with auto tune for $450 and sold the pciii for 150. i love the thundermax with auto tune.

If you can wait a while and get some more money (or money isn't an issue) then I would go with the ThunderMax with AutoTune. I had the fuel pack on my bike and a switched to the ThunderMax after reading reviews for quite a while - all I can say is that it works great with my bike especially when running the closed loop system. I installed this on a 2002 Night Train with Vance & Hines short shot pipes and a S&S high flow air cleaner.

PC5. I've got 2 buddies that have it & love it...plus you can get the auto tune module for it too for way less than the Thundermax.

after reading this thread and posting i thought to myself im going to see if i can get a better code and give it a try. id never questioned the first code before cause the dealer put it in but when i stuck my code in from the v&h website the bike is now night and day better and rarely backfires on decel so thank you mrawsome for spuring me on to look for a code.
just shows you cant trust the stealers to give a **** about your bike once they have your $Ł
