Anybody have a preference; is one better than the other? I have V&H longshots on my bike and I'd like to get some kind of fuel management before changing out my air cleaner (possibly my next project).
You would have to recalculate after you put the A/C on, because that’s the most important part of the combo, getting air in. So which ever one you use just plan on doing that. I personally went with the V&Hs and it’s worked out well.
If I hade to retune after the A/C install, is that something I can do myself? I've read in a few posts on here that guys hook up computers to their PCIIIs, but from what i have read the FuelPak doesn'thave that option. Is the retuning a pain or is it pretty straight-forward?
Retuning the fuelpak will be pretty straight forward with the setup sheets that come with it. If you ever do any other engine mods the pc will be much better. Even if you now say you will never do any engine mods, I would caution to say "never say never"
Got the FuelPak on both my bikes. Did the Stage 1 only on them and they both run great. FuelPak is easy to retune if you ever change the pipes. I did it when I put in the quiet baffles and it took all of 30 seconds. I'm happy with both bikes and won't be doing any other engine upgrades. Also, they can be moved to any new bike I may get in the future for free.
However as stated above, if you plan on ever doing anything more than then Stage 1, go with something else.
have a fuelpak on just now but it makes my bike backfire a little on decel. i am going to buy a thundermax with autotune i hear they are the crem de la crem of ecu tuning
My budd has a fuel pak on his 05 Ultra with VH pipes. said it took him about an hour to install and 60 seconds to tune. he seems pretty happy with it not other engine mods on his,
