they have a drop in kit on ebay for under $100 (like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RL%3AUS%3A1123 ) i'm liking this one since i don't have to take the forks apart. i'm going to wait till after i take it out for a ride and see what it feels like.
hammer that is really slammed. ever drag the pipe??
I have to admit, yer scoot looks good Gunmetal.....yer rims are that shiny it looks just like you have that dual belt in the rear and no spokes........what's all the wiring at yer license-plate doin there?
The pic of my bike was actually taken last year and the bike wasn't actually finished yet. I dumped that side axle mounted license plate in favor of another one in the end.
I have contemplated this exact idea, never heard of anybody actually doing it yet. Looks great and you still have full suspension travel. Think it would work on a stock bobtail fender? (i smell a winter project. lol)
Yep, works great with stock fenders. I have done about a dozen of them to date for my MC honchos. I may have a pic kicking around on my digital of a recently done softail with a bobtail fender, if I can find it Ill post a pick. In a nutshell, the stock seat was used, the fenders original mounting holes were welded up, the bottom portion of the fender was recut, radiused and shaped with a plasma cutter to accent and hug the rim and tire properly, then new mounting holes were drilled a few inches higher(bring the fender down) and then primed, repainted with factory HD paint. All original hardware, wiring and the stock stock seat were reused.
i lowered the rear alittle more tonight, it's about as low as it can go now. but it has the stock 16" tire so it doesn't fill out the fender as well as you guys out there with 18" wheels
Until you do an 18" or some crafty chit like Gun'Mettle above refers to...You are looking about as low as it will go.
I think it looks good and you know its slammoozled when you sit on it!
