Hey everyone. i just purchased an 06 heritage softail classic. It has EFI and I would like to make it a bit louder, nothing extreme. Is there any slipons or such that I can purchase that will not cause me to void warranty or have the EFI adjusted? I hope this makes sense to everyone. Thanks,
Brad
Firebuckeye, I have a 00 Heritage , I had the dealer punch out the baffles on mine but it has a carb. In your case its different you have the EFI , and if you change pipes you need to get it remapped ! A set of SE II`s and whatever you need to remap plus a high flow airfilter system ...its going to run you quite abit ! But it will make it sound sooooooooo much better...... .
I also have a 06 Heritage Classic.
I punched a 1/2 hole in the baffle and its a just a little louder when cruising and louder under acceleration. It's not a lot louder. No problems with efi etc.
Shovelhaed, You work for a dealer? I could get it done at dealer right? What about the hole punch thing.... use a drill? Obviously you can tell i am very new to this stuff!!! Everyhting is greatly appreciated. I dont want to void warranty though.
My suggesstion, get yourself a set of SE II's, Hi-Flo A/C kit, and the Race Flash for the ECM Upgrade.....
NOT TO derail
I got the same bike and thoughts SHOVEL HEAD BOB what is the cost of qwhat I quoted from your post
and is this Race Flash the Thing you can map out for every change you do on the bike ?? (ie Headers, cam's ect.)
Thanks
Screw the slipons...... Spend the money now and get the Vance&Hines...... I'll Bet a $100 youll be wishing you would have..... GREAT LOOKS AND SOUND!!!!!!!
I agree with Softbutt (btw...everytime I see your bike I think its mine..) V&H pipes are really nice. Now, the way I understand it, you do not need to remap an EFI bike if you are just upgrading the exhaust. Now, if you open up the intake, then you will need to remap. I know you are worried about your warranty, but most of us do upgrades with no affect to our warranty. Also, look up the Magnasun/Moss Act of 1974...if I remember correctly, it basically states that warranty must be honored, unless it is proven the upgrade caused the problem. Anyway, just my $.02
