Heck I have 6000 + on mine and ony a little over half worn. sounds like you need a harder tire. I am sure you can use that size tire with no problems

Cool

!st off get rid of that Dunflop!! Yes you can go to a 200/50/17, and the + is better gearing so that it makes running around town is much more fun in that it makes the bike rev a little quicker and on the road 6th is more usuable at 60 to 65 instead of 70 and up. I run the Shinko 200/50/17 on mine, it is what most of the crotch rocket guys here in south Florida where I live run. It is a softer tire but I am still getting about 6000 out of a rear and I ride pretty hard. Check out BikeBandit.com for Shinko tires and prices, they are great guys and shipping is real fast too. I can get 2 rears almost for the price of 1 OEM Dumflop. JMHO

Why not stuff a 210 under there? Metzeler has a 210/50/17 that would fit right up. Give a little wider look, and still benefit from the 50 bonuses stated above. I hear they are good tires and I plan on buying one when I need a new tire. I have about 5K on my stocker though, and still have about 1/3 tread left, and I ride hard.
