Have you spent any time on a sportbike or a cycle manufacture other than Harley? Ignorance is bliss my friend. If I didn't grow up on Asian dirt bikes and sportbikes, I would never have known any difference.
I have been waiting to get a lot of choices. I am not expecting a 700 lb + bike to stop like my dual front rotor BUSA. I want to get rid of the mushy feel I get when applying the front brake. After all the advise I think I am going to call PM and see what they have to offer. I want to upgrade front and rear rotors to full floating, and add PMs master cylinders, calipers, and etc. I feel this will be the best option. Even though its going to be the most expensive option I want the absolute best stopping power possible. There aren't many upgrades I do to bikes. If it doesnt make the bike faster overall, or stop quicker I tend to let it fall by the wayside. I like bling, but bling wont make your bike faster or safer. Thanks again guys. I appreciate all the comments.
x2 the cvo has a 4 piston caliper and it uses an 11/16" master cyl
our are 9/16" so using the larger master is recommened..i did a v-rod brembo updrade on my sporty and it was the same thing i needed to go to a larger master due to the extra capacity needed to make the brakes stop before i ran out of lever..if that makes sense..lol
its at the top of my winter to do list along with a floating rotors..the rear can easily lock up the wheel so it doesnt really need to be upgraded ,but the pads would wear more even with a 4 piston instead of the 2 piston floater thats in there now..
this is a pretty old thread, but I will bite. One thing I did was got a set od the HD vivid black floating rotors. The P&A book says they are not for Springers, but I found out that did not include the Crossbones. They do in fact work and I did notice a difference in braking power.
So after reading this thread we have a great bike and shiit front brake , which HD put 1984 single pot piston on a 750 # bike and i noticed i have to use 3 fingers on stock master cylinder which is a small piston. So HD corporate sucks Big Diik for putting old shiit parts and endangering our lives .
Rear brake overpowers rear tire and locks it up.
So to Fix we need 11/16 master cylinder .
1. Any1 have the part # or which bikes had a 11/16 master cylinder ?
2. Any1 have the part # for the HD floating front rotor and 09 CVO springer 4 pot piston ?
3. Any 1 have a recommendation on front pads ?
Ie. EBC , HAWK , etc.
Thank you to all HD riders .
NO Thank you to HD corporate for Fvcking us over with SHIIT PARTS that are cheap , old parts and under engineered
