Default Removing inside cam chain tensioner

I am replacing the chain tensioners on a 2004 twin cam bike with 60,000 miles. I was able to easily replace the outside tensioner after I took the outside gears and chain off. I have the cam plate off the bike and the dual cams are still mounted to it. Is there a special procedure to remove and replace the inside tensioner while the cams and inside chain are still in the cam plate? I cannot get the tensioner off because it is sitting against the chain and the spring is under tension.
Thanks.

Unfortunately, you have to remove the cams so the tensioner can be unloaded for replacement.

PM Sent. I have the manual, what page are you looking at? I did not see anything about removing the tensioners with the cams installed.

Looks as if they expect that the cams will be removed during the process.

Manual gets kinda vaque there. Hmmmm. How odd.

You can unload the rear tensioner without taking the cams off. If you are changing the secondary tensioner, you have to remove the cams. The tensioner sits on the cam plate tensioner pin, the spring applies pressure to another small pin on the plate. You have to press the cams out, unload the tensioner 180 degree to get it off. I don't think the manual tells you that but it makes sense.
