I have to say the Heritage would the bike I would buy , I have a Custom now and like it very much but like others have said , right off the floor its ready to tour more than the custom is. It already has bags and a better back rest for the passenger . Getting good bags of that quality with a good mounting /docking system will cost you too.Plus the floor boards are also nice .Price all the things you want to add to the custom to make it touring ready for you and see what that adds up to versus the custom. But we all have our own opinions this is just mine.Good luck.

gotta be the heritage if you are going to ride 2 up on long trips....not even close.

My wife rode on the back of my Custom a few times around town before deciding she was tired of seeing the back of my helmet all the time and got her own...

The Custom was not comfortable for either of us when 2-up.

It hurts to give you that advice because personally, i believe the Custom is a much better bike at doing everything really well compared to the Heritage.......unless you are riding 2 up a lot!!

good luck.

Wow see I'll be riding solo more then paired up so that's going to stink. I just love the look of hte custom stock. I don't want to turn it into a heritage. I want her to feel part of this so I guess I'll go with the heritage.

The Heritage is a good choice for many reasons already mentioned.
