I installed a set of V&H BSS, air cleaner and PCV last week. While on a road trip this weekend I noticed vibriation at highway speeds. I didn't have this before.
Is this from the pipes or do I have a tuning issue? The vibration was most notable in the floorboards. It's not terrible, it's just something I want to correct of it's abnormal.
If you put the O2 sensors back in double check that they are tight. My back one was a little loose on mine right after I put my pipes on and was causing a buzzing at highway speeds. And like chaz said recheck all other bolts and heatshield clamps.
OK, I went back over each bolt and nut to ensure everything was tightenen to spec. everything was right on.....mounting bolts were torqued to 25 ft/lbs and the exhaust nuts are at 90 in/lbs...
The pipes feel good and snug and I dont' hear any exhaust leaks.
:-( --- However, the vibration is still there at faster speeds. I really dont notice it much until 40+ mph. At freeway speeds it's much worse. I feel it most in the footboards.
Could it be the resonance of the pipes? They do rumble alot and since I have the Goodies floorboard extensions maybe I'm just picking up the natural vibrations from pipes.
Ideas????
I need to have a few service items done next week so they can look at it then. This kind of crap just really bugs me.
This may sound silly, but are U wearing the same clothes and shoes..
Some times I take a quick trip with my tennis shoes on and I have notices that at higher speeds my pant legs flapping in the wind against my legs instead of the boats gives me a feeling of vibration through the floorboards...Also once U notice it, it seems worse. Try to ignore it and see after a few trips if its still there.
