The clear will make all the difference. Be careful not to attach a passenger seat or anything else that will rub. The paint will probably need around four weeks to fully harden.
Painter sent me pics of my tank and horn cover now that he has re-shot both in black and laid down the flames, HD logo and Lone Star.
Dark blue flames, slightly lighter blue on the HD logo and Star (the star came out silver in the pic due to the paint metallic). Painter to send me pics of the front and back fenders today (same flame scheme as tank).
I'm digging it
Gave the go-ahead for the clear coat. Painter tells me these semi-metallic colors are going to "jump out" when the clear coat goes on, take on a three dimensional appearance. Also that they will appear somewhat darker (which is what I want).
Never had custom paint like this done before so it's all new to me. Wanted to ask those of you have done this -- how much of a difference did you see before/after the final clear coat? As far as color change, lighter/darker, metallic properties, etc.
Looking forward to Friday, August 21st which will be the start of a very enjoyable weekend in the garage putting it all back together
okay either I'm having a flashback from the sixties or you guys are messing with me...because I can't find the pics you are talking about anywhere??? WTF?? sounds like everyone loves it but I can't even see it?
