Default repainted tank before clear coating

Painter sent me pics of my tank and horn cover now that he has re-shot both in black and laid down the flames, HD logo and Lone Star.

Dark blue flames, slightly lighter blue on the HD logo and Star (the star came out silver in the pic due to the paint metallic). Painter to send me pics of the front and back fenders today (same flame scheme as tank).

EDIT: He just sent them:

I'm digging it

Gave the go-ahead for the clear coat. Painter tells me these semi-metallic colors are going to "jump out" when the clear coat goes on, take on a three dimensional appearance. Also that they will appear somewhat darker (which is what I want).

Never had custom paint like this done before so it's all new to me. Wanted to ask those of you have done this -- how much of a difference did you see before/after the final clear coat? As far as color change, lighter/darker, metallic properties, etc.

Looking forward to Friday, August 21st which will be the start of a very enjoyable weekend in the garage putting it all back together

Carefull when you put the tins back on; maybe cover them with a scratch resistant towel or something..

it sounds crazy but that paint will be green for a few weeks ... if you can wait let it sit for about a week and then tape it all off and then install ... will help not t scratch the paint ...looks really good very ghosty ....

looks great man, is the clear a high gloss? sounds like it the way he is describing the POP....i think it looks way cool like it is though...a semi gloss would look great on it IMO

You will see a huge difference after clear, the metallics, and pearls, will be much more vivid, and slightly darker. Nice paint work!!!

I like the paint job, nice. I don't like crazy flame but that is just right, well done!
