Found a 2008 Softail Deluxe anniversary model I like at the local dealer. The bike 3900 miles on it with a few nice add-ons like saddlebags, chrome controls, windshield & chrome front end. The salesman told me, he can give me a very good price when I come in to seriously negotiate. I'm not gonna be an A$$ and low ball them, but I would l like to make a fair offer that is in touch with these tuff times for sales.
They have a $17,988 price hanging from the handlebar, whats the market like from what you all have heard. The warranty is good till 8/10.
Ebay has the same bike without the goodies on the one I like, but it has - Vance and Hines Exhaust, upgraded grips, Factory Alarm, 3200 miles for $14,995 buy it now. Its about 10 miles from my house as well so its a real option for me to consider.
I love it!!! I'm putting on beach bars, chrome controls and a Crossbones springer seat now to give it more of a nosalgic look. The only complaint I have now is the position of my feet on long trips, but my highway bars are on and the pegs are on the way so that won't be a problem for long. I'm fairly certain you would be happy with any year Deluxe, the 05 white and blue is my favorite, but I picked up my bike for almost $2k less than I could the 05 I wanted so I made a sacrifice (kind of).
Yeah, that's whyI picked it up. I was shocked when I seen it, as a matter of fact I was just about to stop seriously searching for one and just wait for a really good deal when this one came up.
I appreciate the responses - thanks I gonna go visit the dealer Tuesday.
Somebody must have traded this bike in, what would the dealer have paid for it on a trade - any ideas? Being the dealer doesn't have anything into the add-ons - actually they probably made some money on the accessory sales. I figure the saddlebags were $749, the chrome front end about $530 and the chrome controls about $350 and the windshield went for about $375, (totaling $2000). How much would this add on to the trade in value?
This is the bike, it does have a scratch 2" shallow on the right saddlebag - boot swingging over getting on -should be a fairly cheap repair.

EVILSRT...have you checked out the floorboard extensions for your floorboards? Good stuff. I got them for my Fatboy a while back and could not figure out how I went without them for so long. They are cheap too. Harley Goodies. Do a forum search for them.
