Default Install air cleaner only?

Guys,
I want to know if I will have any issues if I just install the Screamin Eagle high flow air cleaner only? I am still saving up for the pipes and fuel mgmt system. I have read that if you just do ONLY the air cleaner OR only pipes that the ECM will compensate and no fuel mgmt is needed. I do plan on doing the pipes and fuel mgmt system in the future when I get the money. Should I wait to do everything at that point or go ahead now and install the SE air cleaner? Will this harm my engine (the dealer says it will, but don't really trust them)? Will my bike run poorly? I have a 09 Fatboy 96 cu. Your advice is appreciated! Thanks.
Frank

If you change exhaust only, no problem. If you change air cleaner, you need to remap.

Not true.
If you change air cleaner only, no remap needed.
If you change exhaust only, no remap needed.
If you change both, remap is needed.

WRONG....if you change just pipes no remap is needed, but if you change intake it messes with the air/fuel ratio so remap is needed.

Tell that to the many in this forum who have changed intake only with no remap and no problems. A remap is desired if you want to see performance improvement, but it's not necessary. My recommendation would be to go with a fuel management system, anyway, but many have changed intake only or exhaust only with no remapping and no problems.

it is my understanding that you can get away with changing the exhaust, without a fuel mangement system, but not the air intake.

If you search, you'll find dozens of posts by those who installed the Heavy Breather with no remap and are happy with the results. I personally wouldn't do it, as I already said... I use the ThunderMax with AutoTune, which will accommodate any changes I make, but many have successfully done intake only with no remap.
