Default Slip-on Muffler Question

I just put Screaming Eagle slip-ons on my 07 Fat Boy. Do I need to do anything other than tighten them down and drive? I noticed a slight backfire/popping and I'm not sure if that's normal or not.

Thanks!

Its normal when you put slip ons without doing any fuel management. I rode mine for a summer without any changes. Popped a little. I was advised to go with an AC and fuel management. I did a K and N and PCIII.
You have O2 sensors and popular opinion says you dont need to change anything.
Your choice.

Providing you torqed them correctly and there are no leaks at the joints, (did you check?) the pipes are working as designed. Your existing ecm is more than capable of handling them but it may take it a few miles to "learn" the new a/f ratio.

I have the Screaming Eagle slip-ons with the Nightrider IEDs. Bike runs cool and the IEDs actually makes the pipes sound a little deeper. The pipes will also get louder as you put more miles on the bike. As for as the popping, I have no problem with that.

Thanks to everyone. I'm not familiar with Nightrider IEDs but sounds like something worth looking into. I like the mellow sound of the Screaming Eagles over the stock mufflers. They are as loud as I really want, I'm happy with my $42 purchase off e-bay. The mufflers are like new, no scratches, no blueing, hardly used and can't beat the price. Gotta luv Ebay!
