OK, so I'm looking at getting either V&H Double Barrel's or Big Shots (long) but am curious about sound. I have SE slip on's now and am a little worried the DB will be too close to the SE's since they are in the quiet series. I can't seem to find any good sound bites on you tube of the DB's but have a heard several on the Big shots, but they've been the staggered. I'm wondering how much different the longs sound...
So, what are your thoughts on these two. Any first hand experience (whether personal or just hearing them) from anyone?
Also, the big shot's can use the q-baffles...are the standard baffles what most run? Again, I don't want to spend money only to end up with about the same sound I have. I want louder, but not rip your ears off loud.
I also heard a 2 into 1 on a bike almost exactly like mine on you tube that I really like the sound, just not sure about the looks.
I run Big Shots Staggered with standard baffles. Tried Quiet Baffles I think they would be close to your SE's. The standard baffles are not extremely loud to me they sound the way a fatboy is supposed to SMOOOOOTHE
I had V&H "big-shots" on my bike once... took 'em off right after one month. Loud but in the high pitch (almost moto-cross like ) I did serious research on exhausts and a couple of dealers suggested 2-1 Thunderheaders as the best performing/sounding pipes... They are IMHO the chit. Yes they are not the best looking pipes but after hearing them I would never choose anyting elses that is on the market right now.
