Default Differenees in Progressive front lowering kits?

So gonna lower the front of the NightTrain and Im wondering what the difference between the two kits is. There is the older tried and true kit and the newer "drop in" lowering kit. Whats the difference? Im gonna have the forks completely apart to powder coat the lowers so does it really matter? The older kit is a bit cheaper than the drop in kit so thinking since I'll have it all the way apart might as well just use it. Any ideas opinions??? thanks

I can't answer your question but I have a question for those might know...

When I was looking to put progressive springs in my cbr600, they went by your body weight...
It seems that this isn't practiced for HD's, Why ?

The drop in kit lowersby creating a controled amount of sag in the fron forks, the original kit lowers buy adding a 1' or 2 " spacer spring at the damper to stop the forks from fully extending. The advantage to the drop in kit is you dont have to take the forks apary=t to install , just change sprngs and play with the pre load . If you are taking the forks apart use the original kit, it is a better way to do it , you can use the 1 or 2 in drop and know it is lowered that amount without havin to play with the preload. its also cheaper
