Default 2006 remap

I've got an 05 Deluxe with Big Shot Longs, SE stage 1 air cleaner and had the remap done. A coworker picked up an 06, is getting the same exhaust and air cleaner. The dealer told him the remap for the 06 was not available yet, he would have to go with the race tuner for 500 bucks. I just called and got the same story, said they changed the ecu and the 05 remap would not work, the 06 has been promised for a while but not in yet.

Is this BS? Also looked at the V&H fuel pak, anyone got any actual experience with it?

Thanks.

You know what I have almost same app as you. 06 Heritage big shots staggered air kit and fuelpak. I was going to do the download on my bike but knew it would run a little lean because of the epa regs. I decided on the fuelpak and i am completely satisfied customer. No hesitation no backfires at all it actually runs better than stock. I Do plan on future mods but nothin serious. The fuelpak will allow me to increase my displacement as long as i stay with the exact combo they have a program for. No dyno time I have seen too many people put money into a dyno tune for just pipes and a/c. Check out the fuelpak, they are coming out with more programs for different cams and displacement.

Yes--I was told the same. Actually, I was told that I could get the download but it wasn't recommended due to people having problems with it. NOW-----I swear by the Power Commander. This is the 5th bike (1st harley) I've had a PC on and I will get no other system myself. I have heard good things about the fuelpack...but my preference is the PC....

Off topic a little----I have the quiet baffles in my V&H..........EVERYONE notices that they are deeper and have a bit more bass than the regular baffles. Just a thought....put my bike side by side with someone with the same pipes but regular baffles and everyone can tell the difference. (Personal Preference though)

My dealer was suggesting the remap and the SERF... which would allow them to adjust the fuel levels to compensate for some of the concerns. He didn't state that the remap wasn't available. HD is having issues with the EPA regs and I don't think that they know up from down right now.

I vote for the PCIII USB at a minimum.

Its not Harley's fault. They have to conform just like every other manufacturer.
I went with the SERT and don't regret 1 red cent of it. Well worth the extra cost.
I can vertualy do anything now. And my dealer even admited the sudo dyno included can actually be more acurate than an actual dyno because you can compansate weight, resistance and other factors.
Your choice pay now or pay later.
Much easier to change settings with anything else you add down the line and if your computer savy you can do it yourself.

I have a 05 FLSTSCI with the S/E air cleaner, stage1 download,V&H Lonshots and the Fuelpak...
Very happy. The Fuelpack is so easy to setup and the fact that it comes with a bracket to mount
it on top of the ecm is really cool, better than velcro or zip ties I think.

If you have the fuel pak, you wouldn't need the download ( I assume you mean the ecu remap) right?

we have been hearing hd has problems with epa and has discontinued screeming eagle exhaust already anyone know the correct information on the hd epa problem. as far as tuning the fi motors by far the power comander is the easyest too do yourself and works great we only had one problem with one and it ended up too be something else that was causing the problem.

Stage1 downlod/remap what ever you want to call it, they download it from a PC to your ECM
My dealer calls it a download...

With the SERT you don't need to mount anything its already on the bike.
