Hey guys I am thinking camming my train this winter,I was wandering how much the dealer charge to install a camshaft,I am thinking to go with se204.
do this gonna void my warranty?
thanks.
p.s post some sound clips if you have of your cammed hog.
couple things...find your local Indy guy you will pay 1/3 the price and get 5 times the service...any changes will void your motor warranty.....you will need to think about a tuner as well.....i went with S an S 585 gear drives and love them...very reliable vs the chain....do some research......i went from the 204's to the 585 s and s...never lost any fuel mileage and the power is crazy fun........hope this helps a little

585's in a stock motor probably would work real good for Sasha....Whats the specs on that cam? Is that one of those new ones they just made?
EDit: Googled the 585's....Didnt look at the specs but they do claim it to a drop in cam. Seems mighty tall for a bike with stock compression and no headwork tho??

Prolly 6-7 labor hours at a dealership Sasha!! 3-4 hours at an Indy shop,
. Maybe look at some of the other drop in Cam options from Andrews and or Woods?
I have no warranty so I dunno....I would think if the dealer installed a drop in cam like the 204 on an otherwise unmolestered motor??

yea that 585 looks little steep for a stock bike, got a flat spot to about 3200rpm.but than she rips great power....

Sash's bike is a 2009. NO NEED to go to a gear drive- stay with a chain drive cam. The new style hydraulic tensioners are WAY better than the old spring style. No need to spend the extra $400 to buy gears.
About 4 hours labor time for the install is normal. Tuning is another matter. That all depends on what tuner you are running and how you decide to tune it.
