Default LePera Bare Bones w/ Gel vs. Danny Gray

Right now I am running a big (in my opinion) two-up saddle. I don't know the make, but it seems fine- I don't have any complaints about it. I have been reading through all the threads in the past about saddles. It seems everybody has their own opinion of the best saddle. I rode a Corbin before on my Road King and it was fine too, of course before somebody stole it.

I would like to run a nice, tight, and smooth saddle that flows with the bike, but I don't want to be uncomfortable riding.

I am thinking about trying the LePera Bare Bones with gel, but how does it compare to the Le Pera Silhouette Solo or Silhouette Solo Bullet? I have read the site and they say the silhouette has a little more cushion to it, but I am looking for someones first hand experiences.

Also, how does the bare bones with gel compare to the Danny Gray saddles or even the C&C saddles on ebay?

I realize this question is asked over and over again, but I don't see too many answers except 'mustang's are the best' or 'buy corbin you get what you pay for'.

I had the LaPera BareBones w/ gel on my heritage for a while......It really sucked (IMO)!! I didn't like it at all. Even w/ the gel it was not very comfortable and absolutely no support. For looks, cruising around town and to the local watering hole it was ok, but that's it. Definitely not something I would had used on long rides.......
I switched to the Corbin Gunfighter............MUCH, MUCH BETTER!!

Your bike is sick! I love the paint, stance, bars, etc. How did you lower the rear, shocks or brackets? How does it handle? What size apes?

Did you sell the LePera or do you still have it around?

Thanks............It has the Legend Air Suspension. It drops the rear about 3". You can ride it like that, but it's no fun because it becomes a hard tail. With it raised(pic below), it rode and handled awesome, even 2-up! The apes are 12.5" from Wild 1, inc.........I don't have the bare bones anymore, I let a buddy have it after I bought the corbin.

the bare bones lepera and the danny gray solo are about the lowest seats available and all very nicelly made they all look sleek and low but not much in the pading for those longer rides.

I had a Danny Gray on a former bike - it was pretty darned comfy. Looked similar to the seat in your photos, but even thinner. Real leather with flame stitching - very nice look and was surprisingly comfortable - much more so than the stock, much thicker seat. I also had a HD Badlander for awhile - that f**ker deserves no better than to be burned! Not bad for the first couple of months, but then what little padding there was compressed and it was excruciating to ride more than 50 miles in a day! My Heritage now has the Mustang Vintage Wide Touring seat and that is the best damn seat made, IMO. I can ride all day and never get monkey butt!

Does anybody know how the Mammoth compares to LePera or Danny Gray?

Which models of the Danny Gray did you or are you using?
