The whitewalls will make you sterile, get the Fatboy, they handle great, and you won't be kicking yourself in the *** later.

One of my friends has a Fatboy Lo another a Fatboy I just bought a Deluxe. Don't know if you care but it seems like it's very easy to scrape your floor boards on the Fatboys without trying. I am still breaking in my motor and haven't really tried on my Deluxe yet but it doesn't seem as easy. As for ride I prefer my Deluxe I felt great on it from the minute I sat on it, but it's all personal taste and what fits you best. Good Luck!

Boy you said it, CB. I hear the solid rim mythology from time to time reading these posts. Even though it's well known that a spoked tire moving more than about 25mph acts as a solid disc against "transversal winds".

I've put almost 2k miles on my 09 Fatboy and haven't scraped footboards yet. Don't be scerrd. Go FATTY!!!!

You are going to scrape the boards on a Fatboy. Period.
Don't be scared though. They're hinged.
I've found by shifting my weight more to the inside, I can keep them from touching so early.
Have never ridden a Deluxe so can't compare the two.
I am very happy with my Fatty though. And let's face it, we're riding Harleys. They aren't exactly known for their nimble nature. But compared to anything else I have ever rode, it is by far the most comfortable bike on a long trip or just getting out and about. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

i guess the fatboy would get battered around more with crosswinds because of solid wheels??

Like someone else mentioned, the Deluxe is lower and the seat height is the lowest factory height of all the Softails, so I would think that it might handle a little better.
