I am trying to look up the chrome fork dust Boot covers for my 2009 train. (The solid Piece, not the split one)
But I keep getting different info, as to what parts fit.
some say ~ 2000 and up
some say ~ 1984 and up
some say ~ 1984-2006
etc...
I believe my tubes are 41mm, will any 41mm dust cover work ?
I have also seen a few tubes that looked like they didn't have a cover at all...
Just a flat chrome piece, where they join, is that something special ?
Anyone have any recommendations...
My friend has an 07 night train and I have an 07 softtail custom(has factory chrome cover) we installed the chrome Harley sliders on my bike and had his sliders coated and there is a difference between the two sliders were the dust covers fit.
I have had 2 different sets of billet covers on my bike. Both sets were from unknown years. There wasnt any special machining on either. They were just generic 41MM dust boot covers with set screws to hold them in place....
I think the only change to the fork sliders on the later models is axle size.....
Then again if the guy above had issue swapping dust boot covers betweem 2 07's?
I havent had any issues with the sets I have owned...Nothing special about them. Just a generic collar with set screws.
