Default Do I have a problem?

I have a 2009 Heritage. It always takes several seconds of starter to start. My 2009 bagger starts up in less than a second. The dealer said this was normal, like they always say, but said it could be a variance in the crank case sensor. I switched the bikes crank case sensor and it did the same thing so I know it's not that.

If I let it sit over a week it takes even longer to start like it's starving for fuel. Kind of like a choked carb model. Anybody else see this or do I have a problem like a fuel pump not pumping up or? I am waiting for the light to go out and the pump to stop.

Thanks for any help.

As long as it starts I'd say you are good.

my neighbor's 07 heritage turns over at least 4 or 5 times before starting. He was told it's normal too... it starts every time though.

That's how this one is too but it always starts and runs great once started. They are putting a big bore stage II kit on my Ultra this week. When they are done and I have it back I think I will ask them to look at it. I plan on keeping this bike a long time and want it to be right.

My 2005 SE Fat Boy, with the 103" engine, normally starts instantly.
A few years ago it started to take a few turns before it fired up.
I had disconnected the battery to change rear signals and apparently had not tightened the battery cables enough. About 6 weeks after doing the battery disconnect, the starter would have to crank over for a few seconds before the engine fired. I removed the battery cables and found a thin coating had built up on the connections. I cleaned them up and that was the end of the problem.

my '00 sporty c took 2-4 turns before it fired up. My '00 Deuce busts off instantly. 4-5 times isn't bad. But if it gets worse, you may want to take it in.

I had a starting problem on my FXDC after its service, the dealer reflashed the system and it was back to normal, started first time each prod of the button.

Mine started to do this after I installed my powercommander so I'm sure this is the root of my problem.
