Default Fat Boy Lo, Let's Talk Numbers.

I'm going to be getting one. But, it seems that everywhere they are selling for 17k or higher. The MSRP is 16,299. How much does freight actually cost these dealers? How much in other costs are involved for them?

I do realize that like any new bike they are selling pretty quick but, a grand over msrp sounds like robbery.

Any info would be appreciated.

Depending on what's on the bike it sounds about right. Waugh has one and breaks down the price for you to see from MSRP. I know a lot of guys here have horror stories about dealers and my experience with dealerships is limited to just a couple but I love Waugh. They are as straight and honest as they come. The accessories guys are a little pushy and under trained, IMHO, but they're a good lot.

Ya, off the go the only thing that's getting changed are the pipes and the mandatory stage 1. But, I'm gonna pay for that stuff out of pocket.

The main questions I have are how much for?

Dealer Set Up?

Pocessing?

Title?

Tag?

Tax in NM is 5% so I know that's a little over $800.

Freight? Or is the freight charge just extra profit for them?

Also they are charging the same price for both vivid and denim. Why?

I got the first one my dealership received. They had put a lot of accessories on it already. It had V/H pipes, S/E intake, tune, LED smoked tail light, smoked turn signals, Digital flush fuel gage and cap, and the black diamond grips, pegs etc. I got all that, the security,1st service and the extended warranty in Vivid Black for under 20k. Not to mention I didn't want the V/H pipes so they swapped them for a Thunderheader and let me ride w/the V/H until it came in. The cust service was good and I enjoyed the experience so I feel good about the purchase. Someone, somewhere will always have a "better price". If I'm treated well and feel good about it.....I'm happy.

Where did you buy yours Low Life? I am in NM so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibilities to make a little drive if it's worth it.

Wait until the last 3 day's of Febuary then tell them how much you want to spend. If they tell you no leave your number. Febuary is hard enough for them to make sales because of winter, also there's only 28 day's in the month. Mine was listed at 21,500. I did all the financing letting them think I wasn't going to haggle. After they told me the financing rate I told them i'll take it for 18,000 out the door with the 30,000 mile prepaid service deal.

They called me Feb. 28th at 5:00 pm and told me if I make it there by 7:00 it's a deal. When I got there I beat them down 1 point on the financing.

Keep in mind that the dealership and/or salesman aren't your friend. A week after you buy your bike they won't even remember you.

the only issue is that I need a bike for my daily driver. my wife drives my truck and i just sold the suzuki. she has a savage that she's using atm but i'm not gonna make her ride in the winter and i'm not riding her pos savage more than i have to. so i gotta figure this out in the next month at the latest.

i just wanted as much "ammo" as possible in my magazine for when i go to buy the bike.
