Default shelter island ferry

the thing about ferries is, sometimes they hit the pilings pretty hard and if you're not paying attention, you could have your bike dumped.

Yes I know I ride the ferry's around here sometimes. I want to go to the island but worry about the trip if it will stay standing for the trip across the sound. I do know when they dock it can be rough.

Ive been on that ferry plenty of times. Best thing is to be sitting on your ride, ready to go... I've been on the Shelter Island Ferry, Bridgeport Ferry and the Orient Ferry. Never had a problem on any of them.

Did the Shelter Island ferry more times than I can count. Best thing is just to stay put.

Did you take a ride through wine country up there on the north fork?

Beautiful area you live in. I love riding up there, but I have gotten too drunk on free wine to ride back.
