Got an e-mail from the seller with their return address and I will recieve a full refund. He is a 3rd party seller and never looked at the parts. The REAR owner told him the picture on the box is what the items are. All is going to be ok and I am now watching others on Ebay...100% feedback from now on.
Seen that before, its enough to make you want to track someone down and beat their face in. I too got burned this year on EBAY after using with zero problems since 99'. Ebay can be a scary place its gotten so big and oversight is less and less. Good luck getting your money back. [sm=chairshot.gif]
Never had any problems with buying Harley or Chevy parts, but if you want scams try buying Porsche parts. It's such a huge rip-off market that you have to know the exact part number you need, pictures are required with close-ups of the part and the part number, and I pay only thru Paypal.
Have only had to threaten a seller once. He wanted cash so I sent a US Post office money order thru the mail along with the threat that if he tried to scam me (this guy has a reputation for very slow ship/bad parts but he has stuff no one else has for early '60 cars) he would be liable for mail fraud which comes with a $10,000 fine and an automatic 1 year in jail.
Got the part overnighted at his expense...
Just received what I thought was ORIGINAL Wild1 R.K.II bars and they are knock offs. I checked Wild1 website and definately are fakes. WTF[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]. He has a 99.7% rating and check out his ad...looks original.
Man...I am never going to get my handle bar project completed. I think from now on I am ordering directly from the company no matter how much damn money I pay. I t just pisses me off that my integrity is at the top of my list in my life because I have to pave the way for my replacements (new AF members).
Maybe its the beer right now but you guys have no idea how pissed I am right now.....GD, fool me once shame on you, fool me again shame onme....[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]
Sorry about your day! I have only gotten burned once on EBAY and I KNEW it was going to happen, but I did it anyway. You can just get a feel. Paid for some Progressive shocks that never came. Then the guy dicked me around some, and then dissappeared. Biker screwing a biker. Does it get any worse then that?
That was a long time ago. However, TODAY, I bought a new chrome swingarm for $300, and a brand new in box genuine HD rear Fatboy fender for $115.
Look at that seller's single negative feedback "Reply by american_legend: Shipped EXACTLY as described. Read description. Hardware not mentioned. No foul."
That comment would have kept me from bidding on anything he sold.
Well Sgt. I just got a response from paypal today. My bid and shipping was 241.00. All they gave me was 175.00
and I should happy. They charged me a 25.00 for getting me that!! This is all B.S. It is ironic that there ebay name is "Crimedoesntpay" well it did for them!! I thought paypal covered you up to 1000.00 B.S. again. Good luck with your next purchase,
I don't know if I will ever do it again!!!
I got my money back for the first purchase I made.
Now about the WILD 1 bars. Reason I am bringing this back to life is that I think the info I found out is worth knowing if you plan on buying WILD 1 bars. First though, American Legend Motorcycles (ALM) (the folks I bought them from on Ebay) have been outstanding thoughout this crisis. Yesterday, I shipped back the bars I received to get my money back. Later that night, I called WILD 1 directly to order "original" R.K. IIs from them. I was talking with a tech lead explaining I received some fake bars. I explained to him that ALM get their bars from Custom Chrome Inc. After he said that Custom Chorme Inc is one of the distributors, he asked me what were the indicators of the fake bars? I told him according to your website, both sides have your trademark engraved in them and the interior wiring holes must have dimples......IF NOT THEY ARE KNOCK OFFS. I explained to him the bars I recieved.....silence then "ohhhh ****" came from him. Then he proceded to let me know they HAVE CHANGED the way they manufacture their bars. You probably guessed it by now. On the new bars, the Wild 1 Inc trademark will only be engraved on the throttle side only, not both sides like their website states. On the bars I originally received, there was a sticker on the throttle side and I didn't take it off, but no trademark engraving on the other side...KNOCKOFF INDICATOR TO ME. Also, they no longer have dimples on each end where you run the interior wiring. Now they are diamond cut exactly like the middle hole. Again....KNOCKOFF INDICATOR TO ME. The guy at WILD 1 said they need to update their website....NO SCHEISSE. So I call ALM back after knowing I just shipped "ORIGINAL" WILD 1s back to him and he said when he receives them, he will turn them back aound and resend them to me. Talk about feeling like an @ss. Anyway...thought maybe someone might want to know.
