Default EZ pull clutch kit on an 05 Fatboy

Has anyone put the EZ pull clutch kit on a pre-06 bike? Its like $45, and I am thinking it has to be an improvement over what I have now. I don't know if there is an adjustment I can make to soften up my clutch?

I am not very handy, so I would have to have the dealer install it. They quoted me 2 hours labor (at $90 hr). Does this seem right? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Sounds expensive to me. Its really easy to do and pretty self explanatory. The only tool I can think of that you need is an allen wrench to take the cover off unless you need to pull your pipes to get to it. It goes inside right where the end of your clutch cable goes into your tranny. Harley is usually pretty good about providing decent instructions with their parts.

I had to pull my pipes, V&H Bigshots, to get to the tranny end cover.
I drove the bike up on a 2X6 to get the wheels higher off the ground.
I then leaned the bike over on the kickstand. This angle let all the fluid run to the other side of the tranny.
I then pulled the cover.
***You need a set of snap ring pliers.
after this point follow instructions.

If you have this on your bike what difference did it make? My clutch seems pretty easy now and I'm also curious what this would do.

If your clutch already seems easy then you dont need it. Thats the whole purpose of a reduced effort clutch.

I have it on my bike. I noticed an improvement after I put it on, but now that I'm used to it, the clutch feels like it used too. So I'm not sure if I would recommend it. I need to find a bike with an old style clutch to compare.

Default Easy pull clutch.

We had the easy pull clutch put on to our '05 FLHTC over two years ago. It was a big improvement; my wife was unable to pull it in without straining before the change. When we converted the Heritage to a trike(Voyager conversion), she was able to ride without a problem. I had the dealer do it, this was before I started doing all of my own maintenance, and total charge, parts and labor was $181.82(This was also before the economy cratered; I would do it myself today). At the time, it was well worth the expense, in my opinion.

I have it too, great improvement,
But also notice the following,
1 - the kit should be under 25$ it is nothing really.
2 - Follow instructions carefully, or let a mechanic do it for you.
3 - make sure your clutch cables are very well lubricated you may not need the kit at all.

Regards

I put one on my '03 Heritage 3yrs ago. It was a great improvement over the original ball and ramp configuration. It sure reduces fatigue in heavy traffic. For me, it was money well spent.
