Default Ignition module on 04 Heritage

I have an 04 heritage with a stage 1 kit. Pipes, cleaner, and Jets. Does the ignition module make a difference? Can I change it and if I do what will I get out of it? The bike runs very good as it is but am looking for that extra edge. Thanks

There are adjustable ignition modules that allow for different ignition curves, initial advance, and different rev limits. With a stock motor, (cams and compression) I don't think you'd gain anything except maybe to increase the rev limit to 6,000. Screamin' Eagle used to offer one for $124.95 that will up your rev limit to 6200. The advance settings are not adjustable on this module so I guess they are the same as your stock one, which is good.

Well the guy is new here and really asked a pretty specific question. If he'd been around longer, he'd have understood that if you ask a question here, you get a lot of answers sometimes. I've also seen some pretty inaccurate and off topic answers. You just have to learn to filter out the stuff that isn't relevant. I try hard not to insult people here but at times it is tempting. You have to remember everyone is trying to help and to treat them as such. I took the time to look up ignition modules in my P&A book, and shared what I know since I have a totally programmable module on one of my bikes. He thanked me. A lot of guys don't. I appreciate that. Have a great day!
