It is comfy, my first impression was same as you, too big. After a while, it looks just fine, I sold my badlander seat and leave this one on all the time, add a pillion as well.
P.S. I forgot to mention how good the badlander looked and how pain my *** was lol.
I assume you are talking about rider backrest
Mustang 17.5 solo with backrest on my 06 Fatboy, I think it is overprice to just buy a backrest, that's why I go for the whole seat combo and it is adjustable and detachable.
I'm sorry for the hijack, how do you like that mustang besides the freakkin' price? It went from 3 something to under 5 hundred... Do you really get comfort out of that back rest? I have L3 and L5 problems and looking forward to ride more comfortable with a back rest, I like that mustang and the wide seat is a plus both looks and comfort. Thanks,
Go detachable but don't bother with the locking system I know a few guys who bought the locking system only for the keys to break in the locks or the locks stick. I got the detatchable rest with pad along with the new lugage rack to match. Realy sets the bike off, that is when i'm not carrying a bag with the wifies girly things.
Here is my honest opinion, the seat is made of vinyl but it looks almost like leather, the surface is soft and it is well made. The backrest saves my back, being an auto mechanic for 20yrs, I do have lower back pain, now I sit in the office most of the time but I do need a good backrest to support my back, needless to say I have a nice comfy chair at work. Before I got my mustang seat, I did 200miles and my back and butt started to hurt, especially my lower back, didn't enjoy long trip at all. After I put the seat on, I did a couple of 400miles + road trip, never had a problem, the backrest is adjustable, I really enjoy a full day ride now, very happy with it. Sometimes I lay back and give my arms a rest, really nice. The only complaint I have is the seat height, it sits a bit higher than stock and my badlander, it doesn't really matter, how often do I rest my feet on the ground? I even sold my badlander last week, never look back. Overall I will give it a 9.5/10, highly recommended.
