What's in a name
I happened to drift onto the HD website last night during a rest prior at work. Immagine my surprise to see the new blacked out Fat Boy with two different names. In the USA it's the 'LO' while here in the UK it's called the' Fat Boy Special'. I got to wondering why the different name over here. What ever next, will the new' Wide Glide 'become the 'Obese Slide' and the 'Fat Bob' the 'Portly Robert' come to think of it have you noticed that there seems to be a pre disposition towards all things over weight. Is it possible that HD is infact owned by a fast food outlet, food for thought. Bugger there we go again.

I don't know how true this is.... but I heard back in the 70's, the Ford Pinto didn't sell well at all in South America, like it was expected to. "Pinto" was supposedly slang for "tiny male genitalia". They rebadged it the Corcel.

The Special has the same spec as the Lo, only difference is the name. Could be all things low( LO ) mean your getting less and who would want to pay more for a special Fat Boy, only to get Less ?

In South America they changed the name of the Chevy Nova to something else. In Spanish "No Va" literally means won't go. So when you say "El Chevy No Va", (The Chevy Nova), what you are really saying is "the Chevy won't go." And why would you buy a car that won't go?
In some countries jars and cans have pictures on them of the items inside. So when Gerber sent cans of baby food over to Africa, the locals would not use them because they thought the food inside was made from dead babies.
