i brought my bike to the dealer for new heads and a camshaft upgrade. i have a 2005 night train with Vance & Hines Big Shots, and an S&S Super E carb. They just called me and told me they're having a problem tuning it and the power is dropping off drastically at the top end. They tried replacing the jets in the carb and adjusting the ignition but nothing worked. Finally, They said they had a returned Pro-pipe lying around the shop, so they swapped it out with my big shots and the power stayed up. They're telling me i have to replace my pipes and they are going to call the head manufacturer to find out what will work with my set up. Does this sound right? Also, they told me they would give me a cam/head set-up that would work with what i have already...should they have done this the first time when they ordered the cam & heads?
looked again, what bs pipes do u have..... I dont really know if ur saying longs, staggered, or shorts....?????????
Sounds like the dealer don't know what the Vell there doing anyway....a good tuner should know before they did the work whether the cobo will work or not unless U motor is in need of a top end.
Heads and a cam should IMO always inprove the area under the curve.!!!! pipes will improve it but not kill it..... if so they should have let U know before hand.....
