Softail Standard Brake Pedal Width

Got a '04 Standard. The rear brake pedal is not quite wide enough for me. Has anyone ever mounted a pedal extender? What did you use. Looking for one that will bolt on where the pad bolts on now. I made a temp. one that works good, but looks ruff.
Guess my problem is that I got a Sportster too and am used to it. When I go to brake the Softail, sometimes my foot is rite on the edge of the pedal. Having same problem with the shifter too...need a longer one.

The Kuryakin brake pedal for FX softails is a half inch longer than stock. They also have extended shifters.

Get a stock pedal from and FL model and drill through the stock pedal and attach it. Cheap and easy.

I used this part with a peace of flat aluminum under it to stiffen it up all the way across the pedal. It is a few inches wider than stock. http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...3&default=none

+1 on the Kuryakyn Longhorn brake pedal. Part # 8044. About $25 to $30 depending where you pick it up.(EBAY). Its about twice as wide as stock and I love mine. Replacement pads also available.
