Default Grips

I am putting new bars on and the RSD tracker grips. I noticed the the flaming grips that I had on previously has a plastic throttle sleeve and my new grips have none. They are just plain aluminum metal in the inside....can someone help me out and tell me if thats right? Metal throttle grip on metal bar? Never changed grips so Im clueless

Thanks

a lot of grips will need to have the sleeves ordered separately. A couple sets I have bought did not come with them.

I have installed throttle side grips that did not require a sleeve....
some are designed to be used without one.

if the throttle side has the indentations to put the cable and throttle ferrules in your good to go....

Im running hte RSD's and no need for anything else, just make sure to use those ferrules so the cables dont get snagged up.

Most metal grips have the throttle built in so no sleeve is necessary.

Thanks. Got them installed now. The left side came with two set screws and that is whats holding it on, seems minimal to me but again what do I know? Does that seem right? 2 set screws?

Gotta throw in my worthless .02 centavoes!!

Idle cables = Clutter.

Millions if not billions of miles have been ridden by V-Twin and Metric guys on one cable....This two cable thing? Must be the NHTSA or something.

Harleys like to be unfettered, cluttered and clean.

Consider removing the idle cable on the throttle for a cleaner look?

I have lots of miles on my single cable...Works smoother than the double cable, looks cleaner. I also made my own front brake line using that skinny black plastic parker line and russell fittings. My brakes are actually better as the parker line dosent balloon up when you grab a fistfull of brake....More consistant maybe?

Look at that "Bar Clutter" caused by my two cable setup!!!

And how simply yanking the unneeded cable cleans **** up?
