I bought a couple of new Snowmobiles!!! And have been trying to learn all I can in my spare time when I aint riding the sumbitches as I've modded out one of em.....
Them ******* like to blow up....
Its cold here and hate seeing all you guys ride?
Its warming back up. I wanna do something to the train this winter...Need to steal some idears.
Ive never understood what the idle cable does because like Chaz says, it works just fine without it. Perhaps it is a DOT type thing..
Thats what I'm thinking.....DOT or NHTSA. The throttle is uber smoove without it and the bike looks so much cleaner IMO.
I put my spare cable in my lil' jockey satchel for a while, inspected the cable for any excessive wear or stretch, none found...Now it sits on the shelf doing a heckuva good job at collecting dust!!
The only thing you need to make sure of if you do away with the idle cable is that you have a strong throttle return spring.
And for safety sake, make sure you know how to calmlly pull your clutch and hit your kill switch in the unfortunate event you ever do have a cable failure.
Don't call 911 to help you as was the case with the toyota with the stuck gas peddle. (geezzz, we're a nation of infants needing someone to take care of us)
