Default Reduced Effort Clutch - Heritage

Well thanks to everyone for there feedback on reducing the effort needed for clutching. I had the hd reduced effort clutch installed and have realized a big difference in the effort needed to pull in the clutch, much to the delight of my left hand

If this doesn't prove to be enough the next thing to do will be to install the teflon coated cable. Then if that isn't enough, change to boss blades. If that still isn't enough then change grips to a smaller diameter. Oh and as my husband keeps reminding me strenthen the left hand

I hope that everyone has a great holiday season

Just a suggestion, but why not get one of those hand exercisers like this one.

The're cheap but they do work. If those are not to your liking, you can always get a different kind.

A good cable will be night and day. Try the Barnett easy pull one or the Magnum Shielding....Both are good.

I put a foot clutch on mine when I finally got tired of squeezing!!

I did a reduced effort clutch on my wifes 97 sportster. It made the difference in night and day. Also she wants the Boss blades.

I have a pretty tough spring plate on my clutch, but I never really thought much of it, My indy said he'd install the easypull for just the price of parts since he was in there anyway, Holy ****!! What a difference, like having your triger lapped on your .45. It now takes about 20% of the effort to pull in the clutch lever, which will definately help in feathering for traffic, or tight turns!

I had not considered changing cables, probably because I changed mine to the Magnum Chromite II's very soon after I got the bike.
But your right a good cable will help, not as much as the kit, but it will reduce the effort needed.

so HD makes a reduced effort clutch kit but they don't install it as stock because .... ?

they think we like cracking walnuts with our left hands ?

(i know , the real answer is that they can sell the kit after purchase and make more bucks . it's a shame they have better parts than stock but won't install them when they build the bike . same goes for seats and bars on quite a few models . i understand air cleaners and exhaust pipes , they need to meet emission requirements)

Default 2010 Clutch very easy

I don't know what setup the 2004 had but my 2010 is very easy, about half the effort that my 02 Night Train took.

The kit is stock on '06-later models.

I think Ill install the kit this winter since I'll be in there swapping cables. At least the kits are cheap.
