Hey guys, well after along time thinking about the fatboy keep or trade for a Heritage, I decided to KEEP the FATBOY! So, I'm looking at putting some passing lamps on here. Was at the dealer today and was told that when I buy the passing lamps that, That is all that comes with it. I have buy the turn signals seperate???? WTF??? Is this ture or what? I trying to decide on the pankcake style turn signals (Like on the Heritage/Road King) Or the style of the Deluxe? Which one should I buy. 2nd. I called FuelMoto and told them what I wanted ( V&H BSS, V&H High flow intake and they told me to get the PC111? why the 3 instead of the new one ? or not to go with the Fuel Pak?
Ski- HD might be right on the passing lamp kit. I had purchased a partial kit on e-bay and had the lamps, tin and turn signals I wanted, but I needed the actual bracket the lights mount to. Install was simple and wiring wasn't bad. All together it may have taken 6 hours. Ask about kit 68277-02, I think that is what I installed. (or at least part of it). I myself opted for the bullet style lights, lines look real sexy. Check out the photos in my gallery. Hope I haven't completely confused you.
The reason that the turn signals do not come with the basic passing lamp kit is that Harley knows how to maximize their customers dollar very well. You will also need to get the brackets to mount the turn signals. But I think there is a kit that comes with everything, as stated above the "deluxe" kit. It's all about money for HD. I prefer the style of signals on the deluxe, or the bullet signals.
As far as the exhaust and PCIII, I would imagine they have a lot more maps for that as it is a version of the product that has been around a while. I might call for a second opinion. I have had good luck with Dr. V Twin who is also a forum sponsor. They have great customer service as well and will take all the time you need to explain why to you. Here is a link for the passing lamp kit and for Dr. V
If I remember correctly this kit comes with a new fork tin that is smooth like on the deluxe. Here is the standard on for a fatboy. But it does not come with the signals or the bulbs for the passing lamps. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HARLE...item20ae6559b0
Dr V Twin, I read that they price match on anything. Talk to Shawn or Al. http://www.drvtwin.com/
The one in my sig pic came off a 08 Road King. Ebayed the RoadKing bracket and found a FB bracket. Lights the side of the road real nice. Bullet or pancake lights - its your decision. Get trim rings also - they really beef it up. Visor or French Style - your call also.
You seem to have some cash to spend. So, forget about the PC and get either the Master Tune for $450 or Thundermax. A guy is selling a used Thundermax in the classified section as we speak.
