Default Headlight Install Question

Santa is leaving me a HD 5 3/4 Bullet Headlight under our tree, (Elf told me) and I looked at the PDF Install Instructions on line which calls for removal of the fuel tank to reach the harness plug and plug in the new harness. I do my own fluids etc, light wrenching, I know "rightie tightie" "leftie loosy" but is this better left to wrenches that do this stuff on a daily basis or should I just get out my "pair of pliers" and go for it?
And Merry Christmas to all....

It's really not that difficult. Be sure to put rags on top of your rocker boxes, otherwise you could scratch them when removing the tank. it's just a matter of removing dash console, unhooking fuel crossover line, and unbolting it. It'll slide straight back. Be careful- you only have a limited amount of travel with your fuel guage plug wire. It's better than splicing the headlamp wires, IMO.

It doesn't require removing the tank... just unfasten both ends and reach under to unplug and replug headlight.
