Default HD heated gloves install?

Hey all, just got a pair of HD heated gloves from Santa and I need to know a few things. Do you hard wire all the way to the grips? Do you just run the wire beneath the seat and plug in from there? What about the wires to the gloves, maybe through the jacket sleeve? Anybody have these, and how did you do it?
Thanks
Tim

Thumbs up heated wear

I have the Gerbings Jacket & gloves and the jacket has the wires already in it, but the gloves came with a set of wires that you can run down the sleeves of any jacket. Buy a thermostat - you wont be sorry. I also bought a pair of the new CORE heated gloves from Gerbings that have a Lithium Ion battery and they are great for around town. last 2-10 hrs depending on how high you turn them up........ it is easy to run the hot lead from the battery, just have it so you can reach it easy. mine is right under the seat on my FLSTFB.

Good Luck.

Assuming they're the same as the Gerbings, they should include a long cable for running thru your coat sleeves to your controller.

Mine connect directly to the sleeves of my heated jacket liner.

I have my coax power lead connector coming up in front of seat horn for easy access. I use the same connector for my battery tender hookup.

If you think you're ever going to get any other heated gear I would recommend the dual controller.

please use a controller of some sort. a few members have burned their hands, by just running direct.

I got the Gerbing liners and the remote mount thermostat and the boot liners and the gerbing jacket. the jacket was 300 then 200 and then 129. here is how i mounted the thermostat and i use the connector from the front of the seat so i can hide it in the summer.

Now that is one clean install, now if I only had one bike . . . LOL
I use mine on all three of the bikes, so buying 3 thermostats would get a bit $$$.
Still a great idea.....

I just added a garage door opener this morning. nice button from radio shack and a remote from ebay and it works from inside the console. cost about $20. Most people that liked my heater did not want to drill a hole in the console. I figured i would sell it with the bike. only thing i would have done different was to get the dual control and mount one beside the other, i was going to mount the wireing harness in the console but using a pigtail between my legs works better as i some times forget to unplug it and if it was rigid i would snap it off

I usually have my gloves/Jacket set on low most of the time, so the single control works great for me. I have my control run thru my tank bag and then I can see the little red light.
Don't know how I ever rode so long w/o it. I used to poo poo those who had it, but now I know why. . . . I can ride all year long, as long as there isn't salt on the roads.......like NOW.

only 53 days till Key West ride.

I keep my connection simple. Have an adapter that connects to the Harley supplied connector (to make it a coax connector) and then wire tied under the seat (photo) and comes up as shown in the photo. When not in use, just tucks under the seat (see photo). Works great and I can attach the jacket liner or the gloves via the long cord supplied with the gloves to the controller and then it attaches to the bike connector. Controller clips on my left front pants pocket! Works like a charm.
