I am going to do a permanent install (similar to tk353, but on top) on the center console of the Electra Glide after I receive my perm dual thermostat around Jan 4th. I got it for 30% off at my local stealership.

for now I have the Dual Temp Portable setup.

I run the battery connect out the left side by my leg, and under the fuel tank. When not in use it tucks up and away. I zip tied the controller wires to make it less of a big tangle.

The G3 Gloves and Gerbing Jacket Liner are excellent.

Default Gloves

Excellent info guys, do you really think that I will need a controller when just using the gloves? Doesn't get too bad cold here in North Ga. but my hands are out from the windshield and they are all that get cold. I love the gloves, fit, look etc. but want to do it right since my wife forked out the $$$ for the heated ones.
Thanks
Tim

Or at least get an on/off switch!

You really only need one controller for three motorcycles or for ten, just make sure you get the dual controller. If you have gloves and a jacket then you should already have two fused power kits. Just get you on more of those and rig the plug in a similar location (one power kit per bike) on each motorcycle. If anyone else is considering heated gear, just remeber Gerbings makes the HD stuff, but HD only warranties for a year. Gerbings has a lifetime warranty. Just a thought...

you need a controller. whether you need a single or a dual is up to you. i run the glove liners and the long sleeve jacket liner with my leather jacket over it and only need the one to set the hands and body to where i like it. my insoles need to be hotter and i should get another control for them. if i use all 3 on one controller my feet are cold unless i wear thermal socks. get the dual controller and save the expense of getting another later if you feel you need to have something adjusted more than the other. Like i said the glove liner and the jacket liner work fine on one controller for me. I also wear the harley non heated liners they sell for $10 and then put the heated glove liner over it so as not to burn the back of my hand

My on/off switch that came with the gloves fell of in a restaurant within the first two weeks. It never reappeared. I haven't used one since. If it gets hot enough to 'burn my hands' then I don't need the gloves and can get by with my regular riding gloves. If I need to use my heated gloves they never get that hot.
