Ok I thought of a new question. With this setup on how hard is it to change a rear tire? You will probably have to remove the bag and mount correct?
It's very easy to remove actually. It only requires removing 3 nuts to quickly take the bag itself off (with our kit anyway. I can't say for sure how other people have theirs mounted) and that only leaves you with 3 spacers still attached to the bike, so it is very easy to change your rear tire, or clean your rear wheel or belt guards, etc.
We designed the kit that way so that you can remove the bag easily for cleaning and then just pop it right back on. If you did have to remove the spacers and hardware for some reason to take them completely off the bike, it is only a matter of removing the nuts on the back side of the spacers and they come right off.
Yep, that was a great thread, I got a Dead Creek Cycle used kit from a fellow member here , it was reasonably priced and am very glad with the way it mounted that bag..good stuff
Klf33 that bag still looks good its held up pretty nice. Im gonna mount my swing arm bag today. I was just thinking about how to mount it with out scratching up the swing arm, way to go Warg!!! Great idea.

Santo Buddy .. you recognize your 'art work'
I love it.
Truth is I rarely used it in the past 3 years, I knew deep inside I will get a 'proper mounting' solution one day so I used the home made crabby solution on the no-name old bag... once I got that kit, I knew that it is time to put your bag on.
I have been giving it 'cream' treatment' every winter so it is still very soft and the leather is holding up.
I need to remember to stick duct tape to the bottom as I ride slammed often and sometimes I forget and start dragging stuff on turns and ramps.
Wow, didn't realize how heated this thread became. Anyways, wanted to give a shout out to Dead Creek Cycles for the quality of their swingarm mounting kit and the Viking Bag that I also ordered. I'm sure I could've ran back and forth to the hardware store to figure this stuff out, but my time is important and I would rather pay for something that has already been figured out. I'm glad the spacers came with the kit bc I was able to adjust the spacing. My only issue is that the lower hole for the mounting plates didn't line up with the lower belt guard . . . No big deal . . Took a step drill bit to the plates and now it's perfect. I wish the bag was bigger, it's four inches, but it serves my purposes and i will prob buy a larger one in the future.
I like the kit . . Good quality and fast shipping . . The instructions were also very detailed with lots of pictures and arrows pointing to things
Just finished my hard mount (thanks HDFORUMS!). It was certainly a bit of work and running around for the components but i'm happy with the end result.
Bag is the 312XL SOLO BAG from leatherwork.com
