Thanks burrito. I really appreciate that.

...just kidding

Wow, there's a half hour of my life I'll never get back. Should have just stuck to the first few posts to get the info I need to mount the nice LaRossa bag I just got from forum member yandeltx.

DCC that was unbelievably generous of you to post your backing plate measurements. Maybe JD will post schematics so that we can all build our own Shotgun Shocks next.

As far as the kit goes, I made my own when this thread first came out but for $100 I would have just bought one. The difference in the price of the parts to make one and the kit plus the time it takes to make it is not worth the savings to me. I have better things to do.

If WARG hadn't done his write-up and I hadn't seen his bike in person, I would still be rolling with zip ties holding mine on. I was never worried about my frame getting scratched or the bag falling off. The thing that sold me on it was the support that it offers for the bag, WARG's looked like new with the backing plate and mine was all deformed and sagging without.

I read this too late, since I put my bag on 3 years after this thread was made. Oh well, MAYBE there won't be too much "damage" to my swing arm.

Ok I thought of a new question. With this setup on how hard is it to change a rear tire? You will probably have to remove the bag and mount correct?

If you have your bag sitting way back like I do, you might have to get it out of the way of the axel nut. But other than that, no need to move the bag to take off the rear tire.

I figgure if I am removing the rear tire, getting my swingarm bag on and off won't be a big deal. It's a pretty easy to access three bolts.
