I'm in the process of installing my new true dual fishtails on my '05 Deluxe and ran into something. The new bent shift linkage that comes with the pipes seems to rub ever so slightly against the rear cylinder when I push down on the shifter. It's very flexible as it rotates freely at the ball joints, but I'm not sure if it will eventually cause any wear or will vibrate when I'm going down the highway.
Can anyone who has this setup tell me if this is normal or what I may have done wrong? It seems pretty straight forward, but heck, you never know. Just doesn't seem right but maybe it's just me.
Thanks in advance to the fishtail gods and I'll be sure to post pics when done!
first, my shifter linkage rubs on my primary case. so hopefully its not a problem. second, the shifter linkage they sent me first was al messed up as far as the threads. so i emailed them and asked them to send me another. no response. but about 10 days later another one shows up. new in the package, but just as bad as the first. rusted, goobered up threads. i had to chase the threads with the tap and die set. but, i dont think i should have to on a 1000 dollar set of pipes.

Thanks for the feedback. Now that you mention threads, mine came all screwed up too....the back 1/4 inch of threads seemed like they had chrome remnants or something ....unbelievable. I was able to fix somewhat, but it still should never have come that way.
Okay, I'm going to fall on my sword here and plead "rookie mistake". I had the linkage a$$ backwards and now see that the curve goes does behind the primary. My bad! Feel free to smack me around a little as being new on the hd forum block...I have a sense of humor
