Default Handlebar Riser Question?

I have a 2009 Fatboy with the factory 1.25 inch handlebars. I am interested in install 4' curved pullback risers (part # 56869-09, page 596 of the 2010 Harley Accessories Catalog).

I am being told that I will have to replace cables, brake line, etc., in order for this to work. This could/would turn this into a very costly install. Do I really need to replace cables and brake line for this small of a riser? This is only a 4 inch rise with about 1 inch setback. The stock risers are close to a 2 inch rise already.

Anyone with any experience on this? Your input and advice will be appreciated.

Real easy to tell, just take the cap off your risers and lift the bars up 4" to see if it will work, takes about 10 min to check,if you cant lift the bars up 4" then you need to spend more......Myself I would think you would be just fine.

I put harleys 6" ones on mine and did not have to change anything. I did have to reroute a little. I had to take the break cable off the bottom of the steering neck and just let it float, and flip the throttle and clutch cable to the other side of the bars. Well worth it, much more comfortable.

You will have to lenghten your electrical wires I bet. It will pull the stock wires to there limits I bet , to get the stock wires to work.
Here is a good kit. Its pretty easy, just lift the tank to get to them.
Goto link below for kit. WH-4 kit should work, its a 4 inch extension.

Those risers look just like the ones Harley has in their catalog. Check my first post.

I must say that those risers in the his pictures look like they are more than just 4" risers. Makes me think 6" would be too much.
